Simputer and Outputer got new hardware!

After my daughter had her maiden flight, I wanted to check something the next day – but the computer wouldn’t start.
It looked like the PSU were broken and I had the same problem on the Outputer – ok the Celeron466 has been in service for decades(!!!) now.
When I looked further into it, it looked as if more components were broken.

Since BMS raised the hardware recommendations I decided to just keep the casing and replace the old Simputer with new components.

Now the new Simputer consists of

• Ryzen 5 2600 CPU
• 32GB DDR4-3000 RAM
• AMD RX570 Grafikkarte
• 512GB SSD

Searching through my computerpile 😉 I found a not too old HTPC which I made the base configuration for the new Outputer (CPU, MB, RAM, casing) and installed the old graphics card stripped out of the old simputer (it’s got 5 outputs to control the displays in the sim).
The new Outputer:

• AMD Athlon X2 4050e
• 4GB RAM
• AMD Radeon HD 7800 Grafikkarte
• 128GB SSD

Performance of Falcon BMS is incredible on the new machine, 1080p runs perfectly smooth in high detail, which is more than enough for me.
